Forgotten band: Carter the Unstoppable Sex Machine...
I found an old mix tape with their song The Only Living Boy In New Cross. They were one of those big in england but not in the states bands from the early 90's. I remember loving that particular song (I think it was about AIDS) but not being that familiar with anything else they did. They were two funny looking fellas if I'm not mistaken.

1. There is a good reason they've been forgotten.
That, and maybe 'Bloodsports for all' was there one good song.

2. Exactly....that is the other one I remember....
I remember at the time I liked those tunes because they were slightly more aggressive than the shoegazing or the hippie trippie rave/manchester stuff at the time. Not that I didn't like those other two genres but the more aggressive tone and political lyrics definitely stuck The Only Living Boy... out in my mind at the time.

Then I think I may have bought an album and realized that they weren't that good overall.

3. Blasphemy!!! Sheriff Fatman.....GI Blues.......to name but two!!
One of those "political" bands that were great when you were a teenager but a bit embarrassing afterwards.

Having said that, lots of energy and some very biting political / social comment.

And you could dance to it....

Saw them at Reading in 1991 (I think) and purchased a "Come on baby, light my fag" Carter USM T-shirt.

"Fatman's got something to sell to the capital's homeless,
It's the Crossroads Motel for the no-fixed-aboders
You can live life in style or you can sleep in a closet
and if you flash him a smile he'll take your teeth as deposit..."
