Poll question: Best Post-Beatles Debut Album
In 1971 when the Beatles broke up, each member put out an album that rivaled their work with the band (with the exception being Ringo - I mean he did put out an album but I mean c'mon - He's RINGO!)

So which was the best post-beatles album from this year?

1. ATMP.
It beats Imagine by a nose.

3. Have to agree....
actually saying it beats it more than just by a nose...I mean to put out a 3 record set where EVERY song is gold is simply amazing.

2. Plastic Ono Band
Imagine was Lennon's second solo album, and not as good ad the first, in my opinion.

All Things Must Pass is at times brilliant, but ultimately a bit over stuffed and top heavy.

Paul's solo work is all worthless.

12. Paul's solo stuff has its moments, in my view
Ram, for example, is a decent album.

Uncle Albert-Admiral Halsey from the Ram LP. Another Day is also a great joint.

5. But those songs aren't on the McCartney album.

The best song on McCartney - the only great song on McCartney, IMHO - is "Maybe I'm Amazed."

6. I love the McCartney album too...but had to vote for George..

All Things Must Pass is a masterpiece imo, but I can't say the same for McCartney.

7. A lot of repressed music not allowed on Beatles records.
George just let it loose with that masterpiece.

9. I love Macca. Wings was a good little band, but his solo stuff is, eh..

Actually, the band he's touring w/ now is really awesome (saw him a couple of years ago at the MCI Center).

8. "All things must pass" came out in the US in 1970...
...and so did McCartney. With that line up in 1970 I would put ATMP up against "Plastic Ono Band" that came out in 1970 also. They are a tie in my opinion.
Paul's first one wasn't as strong as Ram in my opinion. Ram came out in 1971.

10. they split in April 1970
But to answer your question, "All Things Must Pass".

And the self-titled "Ringo" album isn't bad - and the only one to feature all of the ex-Beatles on it.
