The headline is "U.S. Gymnist makes history" Which makes it sound as though he did something really spectacular. But, when you go to the story it is just that he is the first U.S. guy to do it. That's not making the kind of history their headline suggests. If the media would stop hyping up their accomplishments like that, people might look at the U.S. a little more favourably.

2. No argument there
Frankly I think that Lewis Black described it best in his HBO special, that the US is like the guy at work that constsntly yells "I'm the best motherfu**er around here! I'm better than all of you!" then can't understand why everyone hates him.

4. How about weather temperature all time high or lows? Just for
that day! And then they add the wind chill factor or the heat factor. Same thing - different subject.

5. Crap
I know you didn't give details, but I haven't watched the men's gymnastics yet. I know you didn't intend to spoil it for everyone, but can you put a spoiler warning in your subject line?

6. this is kinda off-topic
but when did the scoring system for events judged "out of 10" shrink so drastically? I haven't really watched any Olympic events since Nagano in '98, but I remember they used to actually give the athletes 6's and 7's, and even 10's on occasion. Now, anything below a 9.3 is a horrible score (the lowest I've seen in this Olympics was an 8.8), and anything above a 9.7 is amazing. Are they just trying to go for more drama? What's the deal?

7. 0.0 is used for failed attempts
Of course the influence of American Universities on the grading system might be to blame
