They're cities whose baseball teams are all behind the Pittsburgh Pirates in the National League wild card race! :D BWA-HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/mlb/standings/wildcard.jsp

Bucs are 3 games under .500 and 'only' 7 games back in the NL wild card race.

2004: Can this be the year the Pirates finish at .500? That's MY 'stretch' goal for them this year.

1. Of those...
Arizona is the only one I'd brag about in that sorry group.

The Mets, Brewers and Expos? Not impressive. Those are some sucky teams.

3. Arizona??
They are the worst team this year. The Mets are much better (and that is sad...)

7. Shows how much I've been following MLB the past two months
I really don't know what the hell is going on.

2. Oh, you know full well they'll fade down the stretch.
Wilson, Wigginton, Redman, and Bautista ain't exactly Stargell, Wagner, Vaughan, Waner, and Clemente.

Of course, that said:
Jason LaRue is no Johnny Bench
D'Angelo Jimenez is no Joe Morgan
and Wily Mo Pena (or whoever else is in the outfield today) is no Frank Robinson.

At least we've got Dunn and the battered shell that used to be Ken Griffey, Jr. Dammit, the Reds are built to get our hopes up and then disappoint for the next decade! :D

Y'all are still trying to dig out of the grave Cam Bonifay stuck you in.

4. We'll need a steam shovel to dig out of the Cam Bonifay hole
He made Pittsburgh essentially a farm team for the rest of the league :(

5. wish they could play AZ the rest of the season
My God, the Diamondbacks suck.

Do you know we have a five-gamer *at* St. Louis over the weekend? That should be interesting. Swept 'em last time; why not do it again?

6. Denver has a team now?
I thought the Rockies went out of business three or four years ago.

You learn something every day.
