OM MANI PADME HUM • OM MANI PADME HUM •OM MANI PADME HUM • OM

"Through meditation I program my heart
to beat breakbeats and hum basslines on exhalation
"om"
I burn seven day candles that melt
into twelve inch circles on my mantle
and spin funk like myrrh
"om"
and I can fade worlds in and out with my mixing patterns
letting the Earth spin as I blend in Saturn
niggaz be like spinning windmills, braiding hair
locking, popping, as the sonic force
of the soul keeps the planets rocking
the beat don't stop when, soulless matter blows
into the cosmos, trying to be stars
the beat don't stop when, Earth sends out satellites
to spy on Saturnites and control Mars
cause niggaz got a peace treaty with Martians
and we be keepin em up to date with sacred gibberish
like "sho' nuff" and "it's on"
the beat goes on, the beat goes on, the beat goes "om"

and I roam through the streets of downtown Venus
trying to auction off monuments of Osiris' severed penis
but they don't want no penis in Venus
for androgynous cosmology sets their spirits free
and they neither men nor women be
but they be down with a billion niggaz who have yet to see
that interplanetary truth is androgynous
and they be sending us shoutouts through shooting stars
and niggaz be like, "Whattup?" and talking Mars
cause we are so-lar and regardless of how far we roam from home
the universe remains our center, like "ohm"

I am no Earthling, I drink moonshine on Mars
and mistake meteors for stars cause I can't hold my liquor
but I can hold my breath and ascend like wind to the black hole
and play galaxaphones on the fire escapes of your soul
blowing tunes through lunar wombs, impregnating stars
giving birth to suns, that darken the skins that skin our drums
and we be beating infinity over sacred hums
spinning funk like myrrh until Jesus comes
and Jesus comes everytime we drum
and the moon drips blood and eclipses the sun
and out of darkness comes a
and out of darkness comes a
and out of darkness comes the...
*om*"

14. BigMcLargeHuge's Portuguese recipe for stewed pork!
José and I had it this evening - TO.DIE.FOR.

"Cacoila (Serves 10 people for 1 day or 1 person for 10 days)

Ingredients -

5 pounds pork blade meat (ask your butcher, it's from the shoulder... Can also use pork butt) cut into two inch chunks or cubes.

water

Kosher salt

Bay leaves

Ground Paprika

Hot Chopped peppers

Red Wine Vinegar

four tablespoonds of chopped Garlic

Getting the pork ready

Put the trimmed pork chunks in a 5 gallon bucket

Add quarter cup kosher salt

Add handful of bay leaves

Add quarter cup ground paprika

Add garlic

Add about two cups red wine vinegar

Add water until just above the top of the pork

Stir vigorously until the marinade is pungent and covers all the pork

Cover bucket and put in fridge for 24 hours

Cooking

use tongs to remove the cacoila and place it in a deep pot. Put the heat low and cover. Leave it on the stove for several hours stirring occasonally. When the pork is falling apart under light pressure from a wooden spoon, it's ready to eat. ( I usually cook it in about 2 pound servings since I usually eat it alone. )

Good ways to eat cacoila

Goes great over a heap of boiled new potatoes

Goes great over yellow rice with olives

Goes great stuffed into a crusty Portuguese roll with a slab of Sao Jorge Cheese and a few slices of pickled hot red peppers with a side of thickly cut fried potato slices

Serve with a nice tall glass of Vinho Tinto or a cold bottle of Sagres beer."

9. I never mentioned it before ---
but she just sent me a copy and asked for cool links ---

she is homeschooled and this is one of her projects - a monthly ezine for homeschoolers. Mostly teenagers.

I thought your link was pretty cool and they might like it.
