GD vs. the Lounge

Does anyone here feel as if those who frequent the General Discussion forum look down upon those who frequent the Lounge? I ask this in reaction to a post I read here yesterday. Just wondering if anyone thinks we're not doing enough as Dems.

But I always ended up my time there in such a rotten mood. That's when I found the lounge...

Why would it make a difference which forums posters go to? :shrug: I post in both.

But there are some (like me) who are more prone to hang out in one than the other. I say this because I saw a particular post yesterday where a Lounge lizard was chided for not doing enough to help out.

4. This is the one thing at DU that PISSES ME OFF!!!

You cannot tell from the number of times a person posts in GD how much they are doing in real life to work for democracy. I am a Lounge-lizard and I am also a voter registrar, a precinct chair, and was a delegate to my State convention where I was on the credentials commitee. DU is NOT real life. Kvetching in GD is NOT doing something for the Dems.

6. I don't see how posting on a website

is helping the cause regardless of which forum I post in. Sometimes it's just nice to have discussions with people who share similar views. The only difference between GD and the lounge for me is subject matter. Neither takes the place of my protesting, making donations or actually voting.
