Bad films that should be remade
IN the Zardoz thread, I mentioned (not originally tho) that Zardoz is a bad film that's good and should be remade.

Any other "bad" films that should be remade? Most remakes are crap, but sometimes...just sometimes...we get genius (E.g. Cronenberg's "The Fly").

3. Captain Kronos, Vampire Hunter.
Not bad, but I'd like to see some Quatermass remakes.

5. Quatermass
I wonder how many people here even know who Quatermass is?

Nevertheless, I agree. I haven't seen Kronos in years and then only once, so I don't really have that much of an opinion on it.

7. Quatermass was good early high-concept sci-fi.

I'd like to see it brought up to date.
Although, the original was definitely disturbing and effective.

11. That would be like trying to get Chuck Palahniuk's (Fight Club)
book, "Survivor" into a film. If you haven't read it, it involves an ex-cult member hijacking a plane. You read as the plane goes down, down, down...

If only to erase the original from everyone's memory.

Jerry Lewis, Madeline Kahn, Marty Feldman, Merv Griffin, Orson Welles and Pat Morita............How could it all have gone so terribly wrong??????? :D

18. At least you can listen to Bacharach and look at Ursula Andress...
Funny how Orson Welles is in both Slapstick and Casino Royale.

15. "A Visit to a Small Planet"
Gore Vidal's wonderful play turned into an idiotic mess of a movie with childish acting Jerry Lewis (at his very most immature) as star.

16. If I was a better writer and had the connections
I'd love to see an ongoing "They Live" comicbook. Nada (Piper's character...not many people know his name) wouldn't be the star. The "They Live" universe is too big. I'd do it with an larger cast and kill off one or two of the major characters each year, just to show how fucked humanity has become.

14. Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Edited on Tue Aug-17-04 09:51 AM by Beware the Beast Man
Apparently the director completely cannibalized Joss Whedon's screenplay. The film was supposed to resemble the tone of the TV series: high action, dark yet with some campy humor thrown in. The film is just garbage.
