I just watched my new DVD copy of Hamburger Hill.
War at it's worst. Men at their finest.

I saw this one in the theater in 1987. Top notch. It's also the only Vietnam movie that's factual (or at least factually based).

I so loved the scene where they're coming down the hill for like the tenth time, and Dylan McDermott's character (Frantz) is confronted by the wartime news correspondent (embedded, no doubt). It's proof positive that the coverage we receive of combat completely misses the boat.
