My Neighbors from Hell just keep getting worse!!!

They come in and out at all hours of the night, slamming their car and house doors each time they go out.

Their friends drop by at all hours with the bass playing loud enough to wake me up from a drugged sleep.

Each and every weekend there's fights outside in our street. This last weekend it almost turned into a riot with about 40-50 people (NO exaggeration) being involved.

Constant fights between family members.

And kids who play basketball in the street after midnight (actually about 24 hours a day). I can't tell if someone is knocking on our door or not because it sounds like someone is constantly knocking with the thump, thump, thump of the ball going on all the fucking time.

After I asked them nicely to try to be quieter, I suddenly started having car troubles and gas missing from my car. Coincidence? I don't think so.

My tire was cut a few weeks ago. The battery cables were taken off once. All of this happened within a few days of me asking them to be a bit quieter after midnight.

6. We keep hoping

The house is actually owned by an out-of-town cop. There's been cops there multiple times, but I guess they've never been caught doing anything that could get them evicted yet. We KNOW the cop's friends are watching out, but it's been going on for about 4 months now. They're one reason my posts are so erratic these days--I never know when I'm going to be able to sleep or for how long.

8. We used to have those neighbors. Sold the house we loved,

moved to the sticks, and have spent the last year snubbing our neighbors so that they are afraid of us and leave us alone. But, it is really quiet and I can actually sleep.
Here are some helpful tips I used
1. call the local drug task force and report suspected drug dealing.
2. Call Social services and make an anonymous report of child abuse, which actually sounds justified.
3. Call health inspector, report rats, trash, dead animals in yard. (You can also toss road kill in their yard in advance)
4. Call fire inspector, report illegal fireworks being set off.
5. call dog warden report Coyotes nesting there, rabid dog, rabid raccoon, cock fights, what ever.

When I asked our neighbors to be a bit quieter, I wasn't exactly greeted by them. Basically, I was threatened with an asskicking, but I have no one to back me up on that. Anyone who KNOWS me here on the board can vouch that I'm a polite person in person, so I wasn't being a bastard.

I had a neighbor who would play Rush Limbaugh really loud just to irk me. So then, I put on Martin Luther King's "I've Got A Dream" speech really loud to drown out Rush.

You have to be careful, these people can go nutters on you and really flip.

17. got a sound system of your own? problem solved, not what you think either.

if so... set up a tweeter or a set of speakers (even a set of computer speakers should work, you will only need the upper frequencies) in the attic or whatever facing the street. you can download programs that have tone generators in them (ill show you a good one if you like). may i suggest something around 16526 htz range (sounds like that high pitched ringing you hear in your ears everyone gets now and then) generate this tone for a good ammount of time, record it. burn it to CD. hook up your sound system, and when they are in the streets at all hours of the night turn it on and put it on a loop and crank it, open a window infront of it but you can leave the curtins down. its almost impossible to locate and will dispurse the croud after about 10 minutes if your speakers are strong enough. also you can get ear plugs that filter out the upper frequencies for about 6 bucks. its not harmful, wont wake people up if somones sleeping they arent likley to notice, and shouldnt be any big deal to dogs considering they can hear alot higher than that.

trust me, i did alot of sound stuff for a big physics project i did this last spring... it will drive people insane... i ran it for a few days in class and at home without telling anyone and EVERYONE was pissy those days. also, the wavelength is small enough to get through alot of materials... so if you where feeling sinister you could point it at thier house and might actuially get some results with that if they have thin insulation.

geeky anwser to a simple problem. but it should work. best part is, they will only be albe to point the finger at you if they see something cause the sound is so hard to pin down at that pitch.

oh on edit: ive done it too, got rid of the weekly parties my neighbors used to have across the street, we still see the punk leaving every week, so i assume the party was just moved.

19. When do THEY sleep?

I have heard that grass cuts best at 5:30am and leaves blow better at that time as well. If you are going to do yard work, don't forget to weed eat! Also, few people know this but if you remove the muffler on your mower, it cuts better. Ditto for the weedeater.
I know you are a busy person so don't try to do all this work all in one day, make it a daily thing.

it would not be unreasonable to mow EVERYDAY. nonetheless, cutting tiny amounts off your regular lawn frequently as opposed to taking great gobs off every now and again, is much more condusive to a great looking yard

20. Are you in apt? if so, ell your landlord it's either them or you..

and tell him/her they'll have to pay your moving expenses if it's you.

Does your rental agreement say things about noise after hours etc... use it against them.


If you're not in the same rental situation as they are.. call the police dept. and ask to talk to a neighborhood rep. They should have an officer assigned to your area to handle neighborhood watch etc.. that should be able to help.

That is a new saying I learned in the last couple years. Sounds to me like MAYBE your neighbors need to be poster children for this concept...

I really love that idea on the noise generator and that higher frequency. THAT is a very nice touch. Mowing in the early AM is another good one--except it hurts ALL the neighbors, not just the buttheads.

Sounds to me like those ideas may be a bit too sophisticated for these guys however.

Tell me, do you feel like doing a really Satanic looking ritual in your yard? Be sure and point to that house during the ritual with your machete (or athame if you MUST adhere to realism.) Whatever prop you use be sure it looks HUGE. Make sure you always face that house when you chant--stare at it REALLY hard. If you are feeling most perky a couple of days ahead you can even put an upside down pentagram on your front door...

I'd also suggest even a few crappy looking fabric dolls with odd stains on them--be sure and leave those on their front door step for them. (Do NOT use any blood--that might send the police into screaming fits--but instead use stuff like Beet juice for a good color.) If you can get a few buddies over to chant while you do this it could be most entertaining.

You know me--and you know that I am a witch--you'd piss your pants laughing at this if you saw me do it. Anyone seeing this who doesn't know your ethics or practices it should scare hell out of them. I know--I used it on a couple of house mates one time who were stealing me blind. (What a lot of people don't realize about me is that I have capacity to REALLY do a mind f*&k on stupid people who piss me off.)

That might be enough, combined with the noise generator to drive them all over the edge.

28. You can request police presence in the neighborhood.

Call the police and explain the situation. (Don't do it from home if your housemates are being nervy about it. You're in more danger if you don't let the police know that these people are vandalizing and causing fights than if they do know this is happening.)

What the police will probably do is add your neighborhood to their prowler route. And don't hesitate to call them when something happens. If you're really worried, keep your interior lights dim, exterior lights bright, web-cams running, your curtains closed, and don't talk to them. Don't broadcast that you're the one calling them in - there are other neighbors in the area.

If you smell chemicals, CALL immediately. I lived next to a meth lab for 6 months, not knowing what was going on.... and then my apartment was condemned as a hazmat situation. (During grad school.... just what I needed....) You can lose your home if they're continuing irresponsible.

Don't be bullied by those who have no respect for others and those who are afraid of them.

32. great thing about my method is...

it doesn't have to be loud to be effective, even just hearing it faintly will give one just as much as a headache as hearing it moderatley loud, too loud and the speakers will blow out... so theres nothing really wrong with doing it as long as you dont bust your speakers lol.

btw. Riot police are starting to use these too, they have oober sophisticated versions... they look like satellite trucks... they set up 3 blocks in front of the riot, and flood the area with noise... except... they dint need to be covert about it. Ive never experienced one but apparently they are supposed to cause an excruciating amount of pain. their stuff is spendy though. only a few of em in the country i believe, and i think they are still in development for wider use, just what i heard.

33. Okay, here's the other idea besides Last Knight's

If you have a window that is close to their property, buy an airhorn. They sound best about 3-4:00 AM on a weekday. Don't open the window much; just blast that thing towards their house for 20 seconds or so, then stop. When you notice things are quiet over there again, blast the airhorn again for 15 seconds or so. Keep doing it every 20-25-30 minutes till you think they've gotten the message. I really like Last Night's idea, though, and will file that one away in case we ever need it.

In the meantime, document, document, document and call the cops. If you call the cops enough, they will get sick of the calls and sick of driving out to see what's happening, and they will eventually start ticketing/fining the neighbors.

I can only imagine what you're going through. Our neighbors from Hell have been gone for two months, and it's been wonderful. I hope they move out ASAP, especially after coming to the attention of the local gendarmes.
