Teen Stabs Man For "Nice Afro" Remark

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. -- A man was fatally stabbed after he commented on another man's hairstyle in an apartment lobby, deputies said.

Max Jon Waterholter, 23, died Saturday at North Broward Medical Center after he was stabbed several times in the stomach, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.

The dispute began when Waterholter, who was visiting the building, walked by John David Klaiss, 20, and his teenage brother and said "nice afro" to the teen, deputies said.

Waterholter and his girlfriend headed into an elevator, but Klaiss pried the doors open, deputies said. He retrieved a butcher knife from his apartment and stabbed Waterholter, then ran away.

And I tell the kids at the detention center that all the time. They just laugh and like the attention. That kid has got to get a grip. Not everything is racially motivated. Do we know that the dude that got stabbed was white?

This case reminds me of that of David Bullock who once killed a man for complimenting and touching his christmas tree. How I know who Bullock is still beyond me heh, then again I know a lot about serial killers.

It could have been just a kid trying to say something nice. Even if it was meant as a slight obviously that doesn't justify killing someone.
