my grades were so poor i cdnt get in right out of HS. & there was the war, so i enlisted. didn't get back to school till my late 20's, was mature enough then to apply myself better. was tough working the street & fitting in school, but i got through it. not that my english BA ever did me much, but i did enjoy it.
