Born in Athens, although I was adopted by Americans. But, I'm 100% Greek.

Bleachers7 is Greek, too. He's over in Athens visiting family and watching the Olympics.

Dad is English/Irish and my mom is Japanese, born in Japan, but became a US Citizen after marrying my dad.

8. My mom's a good cook.
We ate out for Greek food though. I make a few Greek items. I'm a sucker for just about any kind of cuisine though.

9. I love Greek food
I grew up in a Greek neighborhood and Its one of my favorite foods.

Saganaki, Egg lemon soup, Pistachio, Moussaka, Souvlaki and you can't forget the gooey honey and nuts pastry(?).

12. I have a decent Greek cookbook.
I've tried a few things. There are no really good Greek restaurants here, which sucks. I love just about all Mediterranean cuisines.

15. I have one written by Robin Howe.
I believe she was one of the "Two Fat Ladies". It was originally written in 1960, so it's very traditional.

19. It was in the bargain bin at my local bookstore.
It was $5.99. It took me a while to figure out that an aubergine is an eggplant. :dunce:

and he is executive chef at a top Chicago restaurant. The food he cooks for family occasions is to die for.

24. Greek Island, Diana's, - post the destruction of Greektown, the resturants
seem to be all over the place.

I do like the little sign saying "Greek Town" - good for a sad laugh.
