I'm Back! I'm Broke! and I'm Not Bummed!
Quick trip to Las Vegas. Fun Fun Fun. What I remember of it anyway. I'm tired tired tired, but man was that a great time. I hadn't been there in years, and it's like a completely different place. Wow. Glad I gave someone else the gas money back to hold on to! :) :) :) :)

If you don't hear from me for a while, it is because I fell off the chair and am happily snoring.

1. sounds like a good use of your money
honestly I never gamble because I only lose, but I know some people find it very enjoyable, so the money spent doesn't bother them. That's cool.

2. I only do it less than once in a blue moon
Edited on Mon Sep-01-03 04:40 PM by SaveABug
so go at it with gusto!

If I understand it right, btw, a blue moon is the 13th full moon occurring in a year? Anyone know if that is right?

7. As I understand it...
a "blue moon" is the 2nd full moon occurring in the same calendar month.

3. I just got back myself!
Flew in from LA Saturday morning.

I was at the MGM Grand, I really like that place. Didn't win much money, but was still a great time.

4. Oh yeah!
And the PEOPLE!
Maybe I just was lucky, but damn if everyone seemed like the nicest person I ever met. Of course, my wad'o'dough seemed to diminish in relation to the number of nice people I met, but what the hell!!!!

5. Travel Channel
The travel channel had a series about the best places to gamble in Vegas. It seems that if you are a regular you should go to the Lady luck (I think) to get the best comps. The only two games worth playing are BJ and video poker.

8. Lady Luck is about two blocks north of Fremont Street, I believe
...which would make it downtown -- which, in my humble opinion, is the place to go in Vegas. Lotsa interesting people around there (which also means that you should keep your money "close to the vest," as it were). Just don't stray too far off the beaten path, and you'd be fine.

6. I LOVE being a twice a year gambler :)
On my trip to Laughlin, I chickened out on playing the $100 slot, but I did win 200 on the $50 slot.. I only played the high stakes ones because I won $500 on a quarter machine and $100 on a nickel machine :)

I ended up playing all weekend (Thu-Sun) and came home with about what I took and ate and stayed for free..

yay :)
