I just came in from watching the Perseids!
Edited on Thu Aug-12-04 12:08 AM by Aftershock
Beautiful display of meteors tonight here in Small Town, Minnesota. It's a nice, clear night with a temperature of 39 degrees. That's unheard of here in Minnesota, even in the middle of August. The sky was really bright tonight. I could see most of the constellations with little or no problem. That's the beauty of living far away from city lights. :) Even the arm of the Milky Way Galaxy could be seen with clarity!

Anyways, I thought I'd report that I saw about 35 meteors per hour here. The show wasn't as great as the Leonids are in November, but it was beautiful and worth challenging the chilly air to view. :)

Edit: The Perseid Meteor Shower peaks at 2 am local time with an expected 50-60 meteors per hour, on average. :hi:

2. It's starting to fog up here too.
I'm glad I was able to view the meteor shower before the fog does hit.

6. Darn clouds moved in :-(
Damn I hate that when that happens. Oh well I got to see a few so it's not a total washout.
