I plan on getting up early tomorrow, sitting on my porch, drinking a beer, smoking a cigar, and watch the hurricane come through.

1. God, how I miss hurricanes.

I miss New Orleans.

I'm in austin now, and I leave for N.O. tommorrow morning. I'll be there through the middle of next week to visit family.. and I'll be hoping that something magically forms in the gulf and gives us a visit. So much fun.. (yeah, I'm a sicko about these things..)

3. Wow, Andrew was a big one...

I was flying Chinooks in the army then, and we deployed down there for three weeks for Hurricane Relief. Most rewarding deployment of my career. It was nice to actually make a difference, and see tangible results.

8. Where were you living when it hit?

Florida City and Homestead looked like war zones. The first time I flew over Bosnia I told my co-pilot that the landscape looke exactly like South Florida, minus the snow.

Which was right across the street from the Homestead Airforce Base. There was nothing left of my house.
