2. anything that automatically messes with my computer
freaks me out!! this is just another thing that will make it seem ok for our computers to be intruded upon! just something to make us all feel that this sort of thing is ok, lower our resistance, make us think it's safe... manipulate us into thinking this is the best thing that could happen to us.

5. One thing people seem to forget about a mac os
Is no one messes with it because hardly no one uses it. When and if (thats a big if) Mas OS even comes close to being as popular as windows, people will then start writing virus's for it. Supply & demand.

7. indeed..
the analogy I like to use is that the only reason Bentley's aren't high up on the list of most stolen vehicles is because there just aren't that many on the road!

6. While it will be something of an issue...
... SP2 will represent some pretty significant security updates. It will also incorporate all of the Windows Updates that you may have bypassed, so it should end up being a good thing.

Having said that... yeah, I think I'm going to wait just a bit before I install SP2. There are several 3rd party packages that will have to be patched to accomodate it (like Norton and McAffee), and I'm not sure how it will impact some of my other software products.

I'd give it a few weeks.

8. This is a pretty exciting SP
I can't wait to get it. It makes it much harder for spyware and adware to infect your machine. It provides support for the new "no execute" bit built into the latest Processors (AMD, Intel soon) that provides very robust hardware protection against buffer overflow exploits. That alone is worth the download IMO. Finally adds built-in popup blocking to MSIE, although I only use Firefox myself. Microsoft really did a good job with this update.

Mac is an excellent OS. Better than Windows. I used to use a Mac. Too bad nothing runs on it.
