My sister, and an evil dog
The neighbors have dogs. Apparently they are breeding a combo of pit bulls and some other monster dog.

One of the dogs liked to jump the 6 FOOT WALL and harass the cat.

He is now dead, because the fools that own him put him on a leash. He jumped the wall and hung himself.

One of the other dogs also jumped the wall and was standing in the back yard.

My mother called the police.

The police officer stated that the only response she could give was to shoot the dog. My sister and mother questioned that.

The police officer called in back up.

They agreed, the dog must be shot.

The neighbors came over, took the dog back home, and proceeded to lie like republicans on speed.

The neighbors were fined (big)

My sister and mother are still concerned.

The dog that hung himself was finally taken away.

Ain't life strange?

1. was the dog so violent that the cops needed to shoot it?
if so, why the hell are those people allowed to keep dogs like that?

Good God, there's an UGLY mauling waiting to happen in your neighborhood :scared:

3. The cops were afraid of it
they said it appeared to be some cross between a pit bull and a dog much larger.

Why can they keep dogs like that?

This is a rural, insane area.

You are right about the fact that something ugly is waiting to happen.

they lied to the police about how many dogs they had left.

I swear, if I had been there, I wouldn't have handled it as reasonably as my mother did.

I would have been looking for trouble.

5. I agree with the poster below on adding to the height of the fence..
with barbed wire, or anything to keep them from being able to jump over. AND make that cat a house cat.

Your mom should call the animal control dept and have them make a little house call and count the animals

Scary.

7. That sounds like those Cannarius dogs that killed that woman in San Fran.
Giant Pit Bull...Is that what you seeing?

The Cannarius breed has no right to exist.

String some razor wire on your side of the fence.

Don't wait for one of these freaks of nature to kill a child you love.

Get a gun. Shoot to kill. I'm serious.

If they are raising Hell-Hounds you need to arm yourselves.

I love dogs. But those aren't dogs.

2. this is a bad 1.
the cops, 1st of all, were lying. every jurisdiction has an animal control unit to handle these situ's. have her call animal control, then the cops.

this is going to happen again, & eventually her cat will get mauled. if the wall belongs to your mother, she needs to top it w/ barbed wire or broken glass. if not, line her side w/ a thick bramble hedge. a 2nd "containment fence inside the property line might help.

i'd keep a salt-loaded shotgun ready.

4. it's an almost 6 foot wall
that is why it was so freaky to see dogs jumping it, and standing on it. My mom actually went out with a broom to shoo them away, and they just looked at her. They didn't run, and they didn't attack.

It is a scary situation for them.

6. you didn't mention who owns it.
wire on top is the best deterrent. a "proximity" alarm aimed @ the fence can be used to direct a piercing screech, painful but harmless to dogs, & will alert all concerned that the dog is loose.

a hose is more effective than a broom.
