vegemite
I was just sitting down having some breakfast ( after a nightshift) which consists of a coffee and toast with vegemite. Whilst enjoying my toast I wondered if many other DUers have been introduced to the exquiste taste of one the worlds richest known sources of vitamin B. I would be interested to hear.

3. My daughter loves the stuff
She was thrilled when a store in her area started to carry it and she no longer had to have it shipped in! I can eat it but then, I can drink down plain brewers yeast with water to get a hit of Bs!

7. Yeah, she loves most things Aussie.
She would post this herself, but she is making a long drive home after going to LA to see Paul Kelly, again...

last fall in Chicago! Yeah, PM me with any suggestions, but my guess is she probably knows most of the bands you would mention. She has been down under 3 times and really loves it there. I believe she visits a couple of chat rooms where many Aussies hang out.

She is an evilDUer too but has only posted a couple of times.

I really enjoy the Paul Kelly CDs she has bought. Quite a talented man. Excellant poet. Lovely stuff, really lovely from the gut stuff. Love the song where he is telling child about the first time he met the child's mother. Such a great love song.

Have you ever heard "Brother"? We saw them years ago at a Celtic Festival in AZ. Have a CD and I believe she got another one. Love the bagpipes with the rock & roll. Really works!

22. VB hat, Magpie hat, AU Footie on the cable
oh yeah, all that stuff. Don't know if Brother is still recording. There was a split and no Brother for a bit. But I heard they had the band back together. They are worth a listen.

There is an import place in LA I think she gets a catalog from and orders from once in a while. Sends me some Tim Tams (sp?) when she gets some.

She sometimes listens to OZ radio on the 'puter. I rather like most of the music too when I would be at her place. She sent me some TOFG stuff and it is pretty darned good. I like the Aussie folk music, well, I guess they call it counrty, but it is NOT like American Counrty music.

I have post cards from Geelong (and a few other places she visited) on the fridge. Pretty country nice cities from the looks of them.

She really loved the Ocean Drive and the fact that nobody got uptight when her friend told her she could go shopping barefoot. Snet a lot of great photos of the coast.

9. Vegemite: Shit. Marmite: THE shit.
I love Marmite. Give me some Marmite spread thinly on a piece of buttered, toasted bread, and I'm in heaven.

A friend of mine brought back some Vegemite from Australia (before you could get Marmite in the US), thinking it was the same thing and that I'd like it. NO WAY. The stuff was vile. Marmite all the way, baby!

10. Depends
I don't like Marmite at all - Vegamite is probably similar.

However, I love Vitam-R, the local organic equivalent.

I've seen it in the UK and the Netherlands (and Germany) - it is probably a global brand; I just wrote "local", because neither marmite nor vegemite is available at normal stores here.

Edit: Vitam is an Aussie company.
http://www.vitam.com.au

Edit: On the Aussie page they're listing Vitam-R as a "new product". Yet I grew up with it - strange...

We are currently perfecting the formula for making diesel fuel out of vegemite. There is also a Wormhole that connects Eudora and Alice Springs. Travel time is under three seconds.

Shhhhhhhhhhh!
