I'm going to see The Manchurian Candidate today...

It's rainy here in NJ and a movie is the perfect way to spend my Sunday afternoon. Does anyone else plan to see a movie today? If so which one?

It was terrific. We really, really enjoyed it.

Hey, do me a favor please--would you watch for the Mt. Rushmore photo? Mt. Rushmore is altered but I didn't catch what they did to it. I think they show it twice, but very briefly.

It's a beautiful hot day in AZ. I heard some people were making reference comments to bush/cheney/baba bush during the movie. I'm going because I'm an outspoken a political junkie, but I'm afraid my hub will walk out if he hears comments especially against his beloved little bush/cheney.

Yesterday, I had an incounter at a store with the owner. She's selling fake dollar bills with Ahhnold's face, Kerry and Reagan. Kerry's is a 3 dollar bill with his finger up his nose. I picked up Ahhnolds fake dollar and said, hey the gropernator. The owner yelled back, that's governor Arnold blah. blah. blah. I picked up Kerry's fake dollars. Hey here's the next president of the United States, the guy I'm voting for. The store owner and some other guy said, that will be your fault, meaning my fault, when we have another attack on this country. I yelled back, we are going through one of the worst terrorist attacks in the nation right now, it's called the bush trillion dollar deficit. And beside, Kerry will hot lie and kill our children....The store owner was fuming. Have a nice day...I said.

5. I saw it on Friday...

There isn't a single Bush & Co. trick Demme misses!

It is ALL there, everything we have been talking about on this boards for 3+ years. In every frame it is talked about, seen in the background in the art direction, and heard in the background with the sound design.

My Mom and I kept hitting each other everytime we spotted a Bush related item.

There can be nodoubt where Demme stands and what his intention was with this film. Bless him for that.

And oh yeah, it's a pretty good movie. :)
