I met SocialDemocrat1981 today!

Kudos to Myrna Minx for throwing this gathering together so quickly.

SD1981 is on tour of the US (plus a stop in Toronto) and will be meeting up with DUers all across the country. (So far he's been to San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle and Mpls) future stops will include Indianapolis, Detroit, Toronto, New York, Baltimore (and I know I'm leaving something out) and he'll eventually go on to London and Singapore before getting home to Australia. I hope he'll get back to us with a full report.

Besides Myrna, SD1981 and myself attendees included Dpbrown,
Lydia Leftcoast and Wheresthemind. We met at the Bryant Lake Bowl in Minneapolis. One of the results of this gathering was to decided we'll try and hold another one at the same place some time this fall (with more notice so more can attend).

Lydia - I had a thought driving home (probably not the first to think of it) but, now that you've moved back here, the "leftcoast" takes on a whole new meaning.

SD attended the SF gettogether. I enjoyed his company and I'm very jealous that he's traveling all over the US. There was a Seattle gathering in there.

Also interesting is that every time my friend Amy and I have been out and about I've run into someone from the Kucinich campaign. She's getting frustrated. : )

Thank you DFL, Dan, Lydia and Where's the Mind who came to our get together.:toast: It was quite fun. It was wonderful to meet our favorite Aussie. I know SD1981 was delighted to meet our group, as well. I too, am envious of sd1981's whirlwind trip around the US.

Would anyone else be up for one of our "big" gatherings at the BLB? We could bowl a few games, have some appetizers and do some organizing. (This time ;-)) Perhaps a more casual atmosphere may be the ticket this time, despite the fact that Jackpine and Lovebug made a lovely wedding party at the last gathering. ;-)

I can call the BLB (really liberal place) and reserve some lanes, if anyone else is game. How about we throw some dates out there, to see what would be good for everyone? Perhaps a Sunday so SW can attend? I'd love to get together with everyone again!!!!!!

If study war no more is reading this, I am glad that your strike was averted, but did you achieve the concessions that you were seeking? I heard a little blurb about it on MPR, but the coverage of this potential strike was virtually ignored by the press. Stupid librul media. :eyes:
