Mystery Creature Lurks In Baltimore County
What the hell? Looks like a cross breeding experiment gone bad. Part dog, pony, and hyena?

GLYNDON, Md. -- A mystery animal is on the loose in Baltimore County and not even the experts can pin down what it is.

A Glyndon man found a way to secretly record the beast while it grazed in his yard. For a while it was just lurking in the woods watching the Wroe family until the Wroes started watching it.

7. I saw something weird near the woods about two years ago.
I walk the dog late at night, and though the area is getting developed, there are still ways that wildlife can reach us by following a creek that trickles down from a large preserve.

Well, what I saw looked like a cross between a fox and a bobcat. Yup. The ears & mouth were catlike, but the body was more foxy. It was dark, though, so I wouldn't swear to it. What was more mysterious was how it stood in the shadows and watched us. It was curious and fearless.

10. I'll have to keep my eyes peeled
Glyndon, Md. is about a half of a mile away from where I live, heh. My bank is in Glyndon, in fact.

This is the first I've heard of this thing, though, so there's not all that much local buzz. Now I'm curious. I'll have to see if anybody I come across knows someone who knows someone who saw it.

11. how sad! :(
I know what that is. That is a fox afflicted with severe, generalized mange. S/he needs a long course of ivermectin, and probably should be taken into rehabilitation, because I doubt the poor animal could survive the winter without a coat.

Poor beast!

16. Fascinating...it's a thylacine, or Tasmanian wolf
I wonder how it got to Baltimore, since it's been extinct since 1937 or so?

17. It's a thylacine, or Tasmanian tiger
Extinct since the 1930's. Except in Baltimore, I guess. Fascinating, really quite fascinating.
