RICKY WILLIAMS RETIRED!!!!!!
No! NO! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=1846012

He was my damn First Round Choice in my fantasy league. Aarrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:grr:

Cheneyin selfish athletes. AAAAAAARRRRRGGGGGGHHHH!!!

No, wait, CHENEYIN RETARDED "SUBSTANCE ABUSE" RULES!!!!! What the Cheney is a little pot going to do? If anything, it will make him perform worse.

Let's see, I've got Chris Brown and Julius Jones on my roster. Both of them will likely be spies at best - Jones more likely a bench-warmer.

I'm Cheneyed :(

4. I wonder what he'll do now
When he was a student at UT he always talked about being an elementary school teacher after playing football. Or he could go the Carl Weathers route and pursue a movie career.

5. Oh well...
...with Ricky Williams out of the lineup, the Dolphins will just have to rely on the stellar coaching of Dave Wannstedt and the powerful arm of QB Jay Fiedler to take them to the playoffs this season. :)

14. ala Barry Sanders get out while you can walk
Earl Campbell can't move his feet anymore. 50% of chiropractors business (back in the 80's) was from the result of playing football at some level that only became apparent later in life.

"going through 50 car wrecks in one day" is one of the classic descriptions of what playing in the NFL is like.

7. You guys drafted already?
Edited on Sun Jul-25-04 07:36 AM by RatTerrier
Way too early for a draft.

We had ours a bit early last year, and two teams got burned when they drafted Michael Vick and Chad Pennington in the first round, and both went out for most of the season due to training camp injuries. Gotta wait until around the last training camp game to have a draft, unless you guys like the challenge.

BTW: Anyone putting together a DU FF league? If so, count me in.

20. I'm never letting my friends draft in June
Last year we did it in early August and it worked out fine. Drafting before the mini-camps is idiotic, I told them, but nooo... no one would listen.

Now I'm trying to get a Ricky Williams firesale going. Unfortunately, some idiot posted on the league message board so anyone who doesn't follow the sports news is aware of this. Thus, I can't screw anyone over anymore :(

21. Well, the Ditka wedding photo didn't help much
You know - the cover of SI when he was drafted? I think that pretty much set him in the public eye for good.

I think he was unfortunate to get such attention - after all, he didn't ask for the Saints to trade away their entire draft for the rights to him.
