1. Is it wrong for me to think that Richard was more talented than Karen?
There...I said it. :-)

5. Richard Held Karen Back...
His ego and love for his dated and outdated electric-organ arrangements... and his insistence that he (and only he) could compose the arrangements for Karen's vocals did more harm that good.

To this day, he refuses to allow Karen's vocal tracks to be overlayed on more modern-sounding and technically advanced arrangements of others.

I'd love to hear what Karen would sound like if the music was a bit crisper and cleaner and bolder.

(Of course I don't know any of this first hand... it's just gathered from unconfirmed stores from various sources.)

25. If he were more talented...
he would be doing something other than reliving his glory days by churning out "new" Carpenters retrospectives every other year. There I said it :)

... they finished each other's sentences and bickered with each other like they were long-time lovers.

Or maybe it's just wishful-projection on my part.

Who knows?

I mean shit, he doesn't even have his own show. I bet the guy on the New Yankee Workshop could carpent him under the table. I bet he'd be a better messiah too.
