I saw a "Dean For President" bumpersticker yesterday!
I pulled up alongside and said to the woman who was driving: "I love your sticker! Dean for Democracy!" We gave each other a big thumbs up! I think that made both of our days!

Anti-Deanies, ignore this, if you like. I just want a Democratic President, that's all.

1. I am not his biggest fan but I have seen them too
but we got a Kucinich bumpersticker people havent said any, dad says hes gotten eyed before though. He tells me that Dennis's humble roots are the same thing that attracted him to Clinton, he of course loves the issues. Now back to the subject thats cool, I dont support Dean right now but if he wins the primary I do of course.

3. Glad to hear it, Johnny.
I haven't settled on Dean for keeps. He's just the candidate with the most gumption right now. I have a great deal of respect for Dennis Kucinich, but I don't think he'll get the nomination.

12. I've seen Dean and Kucinich stickers...
Here in L.A., I probably see about 1 Dean sticker a week and about 1 Kucinich sticker a month.

That's not counting the times I've gone to protests and have seen parking lots and streets full of the things.

I probably see those 2 more than any other candidate... unless you count Lieberman's name on Gore stickers from '00, which I still see a fair number of.

2. They're EVERYWHERE
Here in Austin, I can't drive anywhere at all without seeing one, two, maybe three cars with Dean stickers on them. Of course, It is Austin... :)

5. Yeah, do they dare drive out into the sticks with 'Dean' on
their bumpers? Texas-born and raised as I am, I don't think I'd go back there for all the barbeque in, well, Texas, I guess. Crazy, crazy place.

9. Aristus...Dean stickers are ALL OVER Austin!!!
He is doing quite well here. The Kucinich folks are doing OK, too, but nothing like Dean.

Dean was in Austin and San Antonio Monday, and he drew HUGE crowds!

10. That's wonderful, GOP, ole buddy.
What is the true political tenor in Texas right now? Is it rock solid B*sh-worship, or are Dean and the others making some solid inroads to the voting populace? Bumperstickers are one thing, but we've all agreed on other threads that they basically preach to the choir, and act as a red flag for the freeper bulls.

Are the PEOPLE waking up?

13. The Governor, Lt. Gov. and Speaker of the House ...
...are at VERY low positive number poll-wise right about now. I don't think people here think they are doing an effective job of leadership. However, I'd say this state is still very solidly Republican, and the chances for a Democrat winning this state in a general election are pretty small. However, the primaries are another matter, and Texas has a large delegation, and will have an impact on who is nominated.

Dean and Kucinich are running quite actively here. Kerry's been to Texas twice that I recall, but both times he was addressing a large group conference.

I'd say Shrub gets 55-60% of the vote here in Texas in 2004. But, if things keep going badly for him, and the Democrat can mobilize behind their candidate, maybe...maybe...a long shot...

The Democrats have to re-take Texas from the bottom up, like the Republicans did. Actually, they need to do that across the country.

15. Sad. Used to be that the good people of Texas couldn't be so
easily fooled. Now some golf-cart cowboy from frickin' Connecticut swaggers in, calls hisseff a caowboah, and wins the greasy, oil-sodden hearts of reich-wing Texans. Please rescue The Lone Star State from its "check your brain at the border" affliction.

16. There's going to be a HUGE class war in Texas...
...redistricting is the first battle...

The suburban Republicans are finding themselves squarely opposed by the urban Democrats and rural Republicans and Democrats. The latter two groups are the having their ox gored, and it's not pretty.

It's the lily-white, suburban, carpetbagging Republicans that are the problem. The rural Republicans aren't so bad - they're pretty rational, "let's-work-it-out" folks.

I'm sure the hubris of the "Tom DeLay Republicans" will bite them squarely in the ass...

6. Choose wisely, my friend.
Cool. Political activism as a way to meet girls. And I spent so much time in community theater trying to do the same.

8. Don't feel picked on. The "Nuke Eye-rack!" crowd simply wants
to kill everybody! And when everyone's gone, and these sick mf's catch a glimpse of themselves in the mirror, it'll be Russian Roulette time. Kill, kill, kill is all they understand.

19. I didn't have my life threatened with the "Attack Iraq, No!"
bumper sticker, but in the "nice" condo complex here in Tampa where I I live, my tire was flattened. Nice, huh?

Now I have a Dean sticker, but so far the tires are inflated.

11. My bride objects to stickers on our cars but...
I've had a Dean bumper-sticker in the window of the front door of my house since January and have had all kinds of comments from friends & neighbors ranging from "Who?" to "Right On!" to "You've gotta be kidding me".

I don't know if I've swayed anyone into the Dean camp, but at least I've made them think (maybe).

20. Here's the way to handle the FAKE "who's he" repugs who ask...
I did have one person ask me "Who's he?" (most of my complex is repug, so..) I said "He's the next president of the US, I hope."

"Never heard of him." says my "friend."

"Oh really?" says me. I guess you don't read Time, Newsweek or US World Report?" <makes them seem stupid, uniformed...works quite well>. "Well, says my friend, I am a little behind on my reading."
I said "yeah, guess so because he was on the cover of all three!"

Now for the kill:

"So," says me..."guess you don't have cable TV, huh?" Response: "Uh, yeah I do, but I haven't really been listening to much of the news."

"Yeah, guess you haven't."

It was so great. The person looks like an ignorant, uninformed fool. WORKS GREAT!
