1. Try this site..
www.ussearch.com. Hope that works! It's a paid site, but they claim they can find anyone.

2. If you don't want to pay
you can try Yahoo people search. It won't be anywhere near as effective, but I have had some luck with it.

you must know this person...that's why you can find this person...just think about it...and call a person who will lead you to the next phone call...it works....

8. I wish you were right...
I'm looking for someone, too, and he's managed to elude me for more than a year now. I don't know where he lives (and even when did, he didn't have a phone), I haven't been able to track down an e-mail address for him (and I know he has one), and there are several other 'Hounds of Hell' on his tail looking for him too. We still haven't caught him. (Also, it doesn't help that he has an extremely anonymous name!)

7. Try meta-search engines
Type in the person's name, use quotation marks. Example: For Micheal Johnson" try that full name and "Mike Johnson." I recently found a friend with a common name. I typed her name in quotes then put the word "photography" in the search. Still too many links were found. Then I added "Italy" because she loved Italy. I found a magazine that she had just been hired at.

The free searches are useless, they just set you up to refer you to a pay site.

15. Here is a link that explains metasearch engines
and has links once you get there that go to a few of them. Dogpile found a few things for me.

9. Try bighugs.com.
It's a site for adoptees looking for relatives but you can find others that way too.

11. As long as the reasons for your search
don't involve serious negativity, like money, anger, revenge...etc., - the Salvation Army will help people find friends and family no matter where they may be in the world.

12. For backpacking acquaintances
Here are a couple sites I stumbled upon. I didn't find anyone familiar. But perhaps you'll get lucky.

www.lostamigos.net

www.backpackersreunion.com

I found a couple long lost cousins via Google. And there were plenty of kith and kin I couldn't find.

I know her name, her brother's name, her grandparents name from 1972. Anyone have any suggestions?
