More evidence that Dale Earnhardt, Jr. rocks
This was posted at the Formula One newsgroup I hang out at, news://news.f1ngers.com/F1NGers
This weekend (July 18) will see Dale Earnhardt, Jr. driving a 3rd team Corvette in the GTS class of the ALMS event partnering with Boris Said. The event from Infineon Raceway will be televised live on CBS from 3-5 pm (EDT), Sunday, July 18. The event will also be televised live in Europe via Motors TV. Radio coverage is available through the ALMS Radio Web at http://www.americanlemans.com.

By the way, of the ALMS drivers interviewed about Dale, Jr.'s one-off, all agreed that he is not only welcome, but is a class act. Those like Boris Said and Ron Fellows, who have driven in NASCAR road races, indicated that Dale, Jr. has been one of the few NASCAR drivers that have openly welcomed them and wished them well in the road races. Most of the other NASCAR drivers either snubbed these hired guns or treated them like "ferriners."

Should be an interesting weekend at Infineon.

1. you probably didn`t see the
jeff gordon- montoya "i`ll drive your car"..it was very cool..held at indy last year. gordon drove the bmw and after several laps got the hang of the bmw and was within 1 sec of the race lap time..but he said it`s the second that makes the difference and that takes something special. gordon was amazed by the g-forces and the braking. gordon grew up driving open wheels and if he would have stuck with open wheel he`d be in f1. monotya loved the big chevy..no driver controls,2500+lbs of car..the complete opposite of f1..both drivers walked away understanding what it means to drive these cars and walked away with new respect for the drivers in each sport...oh by the way a dodge intrepid stock car without re stricter plates hit 227+ at talledaga- the well seasoned driver walked away saying that was to fast-fastest lap ever turned at 2.5 mile nascar track
