My geology professor is a deadringer for DICK CHENEY!
I swear! He's almost an exact copy, face-wise. He's a lot thinner than Dick Cheney, and has a few more strands of hair, but he looks like Dick! And OH MY GOD is he boring. He talked for three hours on the first day! I mean, three hours of TALKING!

Oh, he was previously employed by an oil company. How fitting!

:hi:

1. hmmm...maybe it IS Dick Cheney
A Geology class would be the perfect undisclosed location. Throw him in a girdle and slap a few hair plugs on him for disguise and the terrorists would never know!

Here's a test...stand behind the door and jump out when he walks in. If he colapses from heart failure, then it's him.

2. If it's Dick, he's either had his stomach stapled or is wearing a corset
But you never know...he does have the resources.

3. Geology
I am a geologist* -- not for the extraction industries but as an environmental geologist. In the next Democratic administration (when environmental rules are followed) I think there will be many entry-level opportunities repairing all the harm created by the neo-cons.

Get the basics and then lean toward the environmental side in your further studies. Join an environmental organization. Go hiking in your National Forests and Parks before SFB (Sh*t For Brains) cuts all the trees, drills for oil, flattens the mountains or poisons the air and water. I'm sure there is an environmental group at your school -- or start one.

Ask Professor Cheney about the Fundies belief in the Noahic Flood and the Earth being only 10K years old. When I was in school (mid 70s) we celebrated October 23 as “Birth of the Earth” day. In the 16th century, Bishop Ussher chronologized all the begetting in the first books of the Bible and determined that the Earth was created on October 23, 4004 BC – at 9 AM. This is the core of the creationists’ perception that the Earth is only 10K years old (Young Earthers). I’ll bet if Professor Cheney doesn’t teach at a religious college that he will mock their ideas about historical geology. And don’t forget, “Don’t take anything for granite.”

*At the present time I am not working in the environmental field due to this administration’s ideology. When civility and respect for Nature returns to the White House, I hopefully will again be employeed in the geologic sciences.

4. Geologists that work in the extraction industry
are generally more level-headed than extraction industry CEOs. I don't know a single extraction geologist that believes that resources should be exploited beyond reason or that they're inexhaustable.

What was the three hour lecture on anyway? That seems extremely long for a standard lecture period...

5. If he's a Geology prof, then another resemblance to Dickhead
is the fact that he's got rocks in his head!

My Geology instructor was also formerly employed by an oil company. She was actually very pro-environment, and a liberal like me. She sympathized with my anti-oil-war statements made in class, and she was just a terrific, smart lady and a great teacher.

I got a 3.8 out of the class. Geology. Who knew?
