What's With DUers And Dental Problems?
Add me to the list of those unfortunate DU souls who've had recent dental ailments.

A tooth I had a root canal done on and crowned started to give me pain last week. Today I went to the dentist and he x-rayed me and the scans showed that I have a small hole the size of a pea in my jaw. The hole is filled with bacteria and it's putting pressure on my new fake tooth, actually lifting it up and making it able to be moved around.

Now I have to go to an oral surgeon and have them drill a hole in my jaw to remove the bacteria and close the hole.

And, to make matters worse, I'm having this done next Tuesady, the start of my vacation. So basically, I'm spending my entire vacation recovering from oral surgery.

I hate life.

:(

3. Received exactly the same treatment two weeks ago...
A "BSR". Make sure that they give you antibiotics before. If not, it might be still painfull. I got 7 injections during the operation and it was still painfull.
Is there an international conspiracy going on. Are the repukes afraid of us biting them?
Greetings from Germany,
Dirk

4. dentists love to do root canals

they charge a bundle.

It's the dentists bread and butter. Like diet pills and mood enhancers are MDs bread and butter.

5. Sorry. I have wonderful teeth
my dentists always ooo and ahh and call each other in the room and say "look at these!"

Too bad the rest of my health isn't as great as my teeth but it's nothing I can't handle.

6. I had that happen NATURALLY. Had the same thing, an infection below a
tooth which infected the whole bone.

Over the course of a couple weeks, the infection drilled its own hole through the bone abcessing into my mouth below the tooth. Once it finally broke through, the relief was immense. It was rather nasty nonetheless, so let the dentist do the work for you, rather than go through the agony I suffered.

I recommend plenty of pain killers and hallucinagenic drugs to ease your pain and worries. The procedure should be pretty quick.

And a massive antibiotic.
