classical music question
Hey all, I am looking for the piece of music used as the theme for the History International program "Nation to Nation". I thought it might have been Shostakovic, but that proved incorrect. Can someone help me out? I can't find a credit listing to the show anywhere...

Can someone clue me in, I'd like to pick up the whole piece at the CD store.

Thanks in advance!

5. LOL... Now THAT sounds like Also Sprach Zarathustra...
But I KNOW that's not what you mean.

I like the lyrics though. :)

By Stravinsky?

Though that would be pretty odd, so not likely.

6. Email the History Channel and ask them.
You're more likely to get an answer that way.

There's a link to contact them on the page below.

10. I will!
it's driving me mental... I keep hearing the same 15 second segment looping over and over and over in my head.... and it's JUST the sort of music I want to write with in the background. But, more than 15 seconds worth.

13. Their FAQ says:
"Most of our on-air promotional and original series music is written specifically for our programs and is not available to sell to the public."

Are you certain you've heard the composition before?

It's possible that the "Nation to Nation" theme is a Shostakovich "wannabe" written by some impoverished Puerto Rican in a jingle sweatshop. (Okay, I made the sweatshop part up.)

Sorry I haven't seen the show...

14. I've heard it other places
like commercial jingles (damned if I can remember the product though)... and I am sure this isn't a piece of History Channel commissioned music.
