1. Admittedly, I have not seen the movie, but I did see that scene
I laughed hysterically for about five minutes after that.

"LET THE EAGLE SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!"

3. For some reason when he was singing that I couldn't help but think...
...how passionate some Nazis were about their love of Germany and did much the same thing.

5. He is ok with pitch...but his vibrato gets on my nerves....
And the song makes you want to jump out of a window.

8. Ashcroft is a George Beverly Shea wannabe
methinks.

26. But
delivery, phrasing, interp are all in the hopper.

I mean, over the top -- like a bad combination of Jim Neighbors and a sinus sufferer. Someone please explain to the John that 'r' is not a vowel.

The lyrics, likewise are evidence that Ashcroft is devoid of actual poetry, but awash in pathos.

7. Decent church voice, corny song
that has no place in the day to day running of the Justice Department.

10. Other: One of the creepiest things
I have ever seen and heard. To hear someone so f**ed up and evil attempt to make music is vaguely horrifying. Kind of like Hitler's Jig. Something about it just seems so eerily wrong.

14. Hitler never danced that jig...
...it was admittedly created in a photo lab as a piece of propaganda.

12. The R's pilloried Dean for a Vermont Rebel yell
but let Ashcroft perform that bizarre and nausea inducing warble of pain.
Go figure.

15. I played it for a cockatiel
...at a friend's home. I pulled it up on the computer and played the whole thing.

This cockatiel is an opera buff. He really loves to hear singers, and gets real quiet and cocks his head to hear better.

He went nuts at Ashcroft. Shrieked and jumped around. Just went nuts.

20. Before they threw his ass out of the senate, he was
one of "The Singing Senators" which consisted of Ashcroft, Trent Lott, Jim Jeffords from Vermont (who became an independent), and Larry Craig from Idaho. (Google "singing senators.")

With the exception of Jeffords, the other three would probably have enjoyed doing harmony to "Deutchland Uber Alles."

21. He sounds like he is <F- - - - - -> a cat
Which could explain his tight-ass views of the human body and his fixation with body oils.

23. Guess his voice isn't totally shot, but
he repulses me so much, if he sounded like John Mathis or John Lennon, instead of John Ashcroft, he'd still grate on my nerves.

28. I had plans to create a remix of "Let The Eagle Soar" at one point,
featuring Dubya rapping about weapons of mass destruction and terra.

Pity I never finished that. I could have released it along with the movie and made a bundle. If William Hung can have a hit CD...
