Poll question: The next morning - what's the worst drink to be drinking the night before?
Edited on Tue Jun-22-04 10:47 PM by HEyHEY
I think gin and tonic leaves a taste in your mouth that breakfast can't cure.

6. I don't do Hard Liquor these days. I prefer vino and beer meself.
However, an occassional margarita is most welcome. ;)

The worst hangovers I've had are Vodka related. But, it's been years since I've been dumb enough to *do* Vodka. *blech*

Worst part is you can't even brush your teeth (with mint toothpaste, anyway) without :puke:. x(

I used to bartend; once one of the liquor salesmen brought us a *complimentary* bottle of Rumpleminz (top shelf peppermint schnaaps type stuff)...the bottle didn't last long, and we suffered for it for a week. x(

40. Agreed! Too much red wine is worse than anything
at least for me. I can drink straight bourbon all night, rum & coke, tequila, gin & tonic etc. and be fine as long as I re-hydrate and pop a couple of B6's but too much red wine will guarantee me a headache in the morning. I love it but I have to limit the amount I indulge in so I usually only drink it with dinner.

Great thread!

Let's see...The two things that really killed me were:

Three Long Islands and a whole bunch of other stuff...God what a terrible idea. I couldn't even walk -- Not walk straight, but I practically had to be carried/dragged. You've heard being carried OUT of the bar...Well I can say I was carried IN. That was really pretty stupid.

The other time, I had about 10 glasses of beer and then about 1/5 or a quarter of a bottle of Bacardi O. Also not a good idea.

Ultimately though, I just can't do hard liquor after a lot of beer. Then again, it just might be the hard liquor itself...

39. That used to be my favorite.
In my early 20s SC was by far my favorite.

Now, 10 years later, I can't even smell the stuff without wanting to vomit.

Worst hangovers, for me at least, are from beer. I can sip bourbon and cokes all night, but add in one beer and I'll feel like crap the next day.

31. Fire & Ice (and Jagermeister)
A 50/50 mix of Rumpelmints peppermint schnapps and Goldschlager cinnamon schnapps. Oy vey.

A friend of mine once chases a few shots of that with two 22 oz bottles of Sam Adams Cranberry Lambic. He puked so hard he burst blood vessels in his eyes. Totally gruesome!

On second thought, nothing tops Jagermeister hangover. NOTHING.

34. Purple Jesus.
Grain alcohol mixed with Hi C, Kool Aid, and any other kind of fruit punch we could pour into the trash can. (Hey, I was a college freshman.) The next morning, no, make that afternoon, I seriously considered throwing myself out of a fifth story dorm window just to make it stop.

45. Following beer with hard liquor
the old saying: Liquor before beer, never fear; beer before liquor, never sicker. It's true for me, at least - the only times I get really sick from drinking, it's always been because I started with beer and moved to hard liquor.

Whiskey and Soda is very gentle. With a big bottle of seltzer a bottle of Canadain Club or Imperial Whiskey is no problem.
