3. I had the good fortune
to see the Buddy Rich Big Band in the mid 70's. It was better than I ever imagined. Buddy was just smoking. He held nothing back just because he was playing a small college in Iowa.

6. Terry Bozzio and Gene Krupa (agreeing with Old and in the Way)
Bozzio-Frank Zappa's drummer (and others SRV, etc.) an excellent soloist.

7. "Drum Battle" Krupa vs. Rich
No contest.

Krupa's last album was recorded in the 1972 with a bunch of his old buddies..."Live at the New School". Listen to "Struttin' with Some Barbeque" and "China Boy" (ironically, the 1st song he ever recorded and the last song). The man was a veritible drum machine.
