Photoshop software question
Edited on Tue Jun-22-04 07:36 AM by Norbert
I've been using a couple of bare bones photo imaging software for my photos namely MS Photo Edit and Kodak imaging. On each one of my photographs I place my name in the bottom corner of the jpeg through typing it in or using a stamp. The only problems the name distorts a little when it is saved. The software mentioned is not very user friendly.

I am considering the purchase of a film scanner that will probably come with Adobe Photoshop Elements software. I don't have the money right not to go with a full blown Photoshop Deluxe. I'd like to have the photos and my name look a little more professional and a little less hassle with using the software. Will the Photoshop Elements do the job or is there affordable software out there that is better?

6. Keys do that to me all the time.
They even switch places on the keyboard so that my "and" almost always comes out "nad". It's sad when little pieces of plastic are trickier than you are.

3. JASC
about 75$ and well worth it. I use both photoshop and JASC (home and work) and am considering "upgrading" home software to JASC. Ease of use, similar abilities - for a guy like me not expecting entirely professional results it does the job and then some.

5. Take a look at the GIMP, it's free (as in speech) software
Main GIMP Site

I'm assuming you use Windows: download here.

The GIMP can make use of Photoshop filter plugins and is used for proffesional quality grahics.

8. It's probably not the software, but how much you are compressing
the pictures.

9. I thought that may be the case...
bcause early on some of my photos came out distorted when I compressed. I've since cropped (where needed) the photos and resized them before hand. The results on the text remained the same.

10. You need to go back to the originals
taking a compressed picture and saving it uncompressed isn't doing any good.
