Office Lotto Pool
We are in an ongoing office Lotto Pool. We put in $2 a week. We win something every now and then. If its over $2-3 per person, we cash out. If less, we just use to to play for the next week or two without any contribution. Anyway, my secretary just did the calculations. In the three years we have been doing this, we have spent ~$13,000 on Lotto with nothing to really show for it (we have won over $100 once). We average about 40 people per week, $2 per week. We started in March 2001.

I thought Lotto money was somehow supposed to help schools. I figure my group has paid one NYC summer school teacher, there must be more idiots like us giving money to the state gambling fund. I don't understand how the NYC school system is in trouble.

1. Once a guy told me
....his whole office had collected money to pool for lotto when the jackpot was quite large. He was in charge of checking all the tickets. Out of over 300 tickets, they didn't even win a free ticket or $1.

And yet I play every week. All it takes is a dollar and a dream.

2. I'm with you pagerbear.
The odds of winning are astronomical, but SOMEONE is going to win, and there is no reason why that someone CAN'T be bunnyj! Keep on playing!

3. the schools are in trouble because
the money from lotteries that was originally "bonus" money is now part of the hard Budget , and the FED stiffing the states to feed the Pentagon war machine thieves leaves very little room for any extras.

4. If I continue playing the same number of tickets
every week, I will win, on the average, of once every 54 thousand years.

But who knows, that could be tomorrow, or 108 thousand years from now. You never know.

5. Well, I've been doing it for three years
so at the minimum I will win at least once in the next 53,997 years.

6. I worked out a GREAT Lotto system.
I drive past the liquor store and throw money out the window. I win exactly as much as I used to, and I don't even have to get out of the car!
