Who has gotten it already and what did you think of it.
To me, season 4 has so many great espisodes that it is truly part of the Simpsons Golden Age(seasons 3 thru 5). Maybe even their greatest season...thoughts, favorite eps, anything?
They actually have deleted scenes on the new DVD but its only for 2 episodes(though about 5 scenes per)
But not that disappointed.....I think I fried my brain watching 3 hours a day.
I simply must get a DVD recorder/VCR combo so I can begin transfer of my library of VHS tapes. I'll even keep the commercials....its funny to see stuff from the early 90's.
One Disk 1 there's an extra called "Bush vs. the Simpsons." Babs had made a snarky comment about the Simpsons, and Marge wrote her about it. Babs responded. It's pretty funny.
I was just compiling a post on that. It was pretty funny. I was fairly shocked to see how cold Bar was. I've heard the stories certainly but that was almost frighteneing.
Kind of let's you know where the whole "Two Bad Neighbors" (the episode where Bar & George move across the street) story was born out of.
I concur, rinsd. Seasons 3-5 not only represents the best run of The Simpsons, but also stands as the zenith of television comedy.
There are lunatics out there who actually think that the series is as good as its ever been; those of us who have watched The Simpsons from the beginning know the truth. The last 6 seasons have truly been wretched--a shadow of its former self.
It's still good, just not as consistently good. Still appointment TV for me, along with Sopranos & Curb Your Enthusiasm. Of course, those two aren't currently showing new episodes.
The Simpsons have gone downhill since seasons 4 and 5. The writers seem to have gotten too reliant on common wacky situations than irony, parody and multi-layered humor.
This is the best set yet. Almost every episode is a winner. My favorite Simpson's moment is on this set: the Worker and Parasite cartoon on the Krusty gets Kanceled episode. My only complaint: Alot of the commentary just rambles with little to no correlation to the episode being shown.
