1. How does the song go?
Owner of a lonely heart
Owner of a lonely heart
(much better than...)
Owner of a broken heart

3. I'd go with lonely heart
...a lonely heart can make plans. A broken heart just sits around.

8. In the words of one of the sappiest songs ever written
(but still infinitely more tolerable than their godawful disco shit....)

I can think of younger days when living for my life
Was everything a man could want to do.
I could never see tomorrow, but I was never told about the sorrow.

And how can you mend a broken heart?
How can you stop the rain from falling down?
How can you stop the sun from shining?
What makes the world go round?
How can you mend a this broken man?
How can a loser ever win?
Please help me mend my broken heart and let me live again.

I can still feel the breeze that rustles through the trees
And misty memories of days gone by
We could never see tomorrow, noone said a word about the sorrow.

And how can you mend a broken heart?
How can you stop the rain from falling down?
How can you stop the sun from shining?
What makes the world go round?
How can you mend this broken man?
How can a loser ever win?
Please help me mend my broken heart and let me live again.

11. Both are terrible, but
when one is broken-hearted, one is by definition lonely-hearted and in need of comfort, only the person one most wants to be comforted by has just told you to take a hike, so it is doubly awful.

12. Thanks for the reminder - time to take my blood pressure meds
A ruptured or stopped heart would be a hell of a lot worse than either of the poll choices.

13. Broken heart feels worse
A broken heart is usually the result of your ego. And anything that involves the ego is either overly elated, or completely depressing. Not much in between. That's why it sucks on the downside.
A lonely heart is just an innate need to have someone in your life.
