My first memory of braunschweiger was Hurricane Donna in 1960. We were on the East coast of Florida and dad evacuated us inland a ways. I remember waking up to horrific lightening and thunder, and dad giving me a braunschweiger sandwich with Worcestershire sauce. And a bottle of Coke. Then we watched the storm for hours.
