Poll question: Should we have a seperate DU sports forum???
I think the topic has come up before, but I'm curious as to what people in the Lounge think of the recent proliferation of sports threads.

I personally think that a seperate forum for general sports discussion would be a good thing, and I'd even want to volunteer to help moderate it.

So what do you think about having a seperate sports forum, just for any and all sports-related discussions???

1. Totally irrelevant forum suggestion here:

Turn the "Bush, Conservatism and Conservatism" board into a "Research Room."

2. I am as guilty as anyone sports-wise
But rarely do sports swamp everything else in the Lounge. I like sports because they are superficial. That is why the Lounge exists.

5. The state forums show that more forums don't equal better
it mean's less and less likely traffic to what you want to talk about. Having sports in the lounge is fine.

And on the subject of state forums, I think it would be better to group them into regions. IE, New England, NY tri-state, etc. You could have a state forum for say, California, or Texas, but I think it would be better to combine adjacent states with smaller populations to make it easier for traffic and therefor more likely to get some actual discussion.

6. No, there would be too many meaningless threads on individual games
"Official Tigers/White Sox thread", etc., etc. Please spare me that Dick Gephardt-like insomnia.

The Lounge is uniquely terrific because we can debate hockey or corn dogs in nearby threads.
