We call it the "Flock of Birds" I know what it means, and people don't run me off the road for doing it

6. Proper form is so important!

The middle finger must be extended perfectly straight. The knuckles of all four fingers should be flat, not bent, and the outer-facing surface of all four fingers from the knuckle to the first joint should form a perfectly flat plane. The thumb should be tucked.

Anything less is just uncivilized.

Index, middle and ring finger tucked under thumb. Pinkie extended in a curl. Hand and arm in a straight plane. Back of hand level with ground. Bend the elbow sharply upward, (as in the Italian handslap on upper arm "Fongue!" gesture) while estending pinkie straight upward in an unmistakeable "up YOURS!" gesture, and *then* slowly and forcefully (as if reaming out dried paint) rotate the hand and extended finger round and round! *incredibly* obscene gesture!

Gotten me in several fights, that one has! When asked for an explanation of the gesture once, I replied "For those who do NOT care to send the very best!!"

The Missus cringes everytime I use it!
