Strange karma?

My last landlord is a real jerk and refuses to give us our security deposit back, claiming we ruined his place which we didn't so now I have to take him to small claims (dread!), Anyhoo, I've been having really negative feelings and earlier this week our current landlord goes home for lunch and there's a crazed man in his house with nails on a 2x4 chasing him out of his home. This crazy man had raked the current landlord's furniture with the nailed 2x4 and trashed the whole house. This story was told to us by the handyman and I'm just scatching my head over it. Could it be mis-directed karma or is this world really full of crazies and this a statistic? The area I live in is full of speed freaks so maybe that has something to do with it.
