Air tickets KC to Berlin . . . does 850-900 round trip sound about right?
Or is there some much cheaper way I should look into? Leaving 1st week of August or so . . .

Thanks (in advance) for your advice.

1. That far in advance, I'd expect a couple hundred bucks less.
I paid $550 round trip from San Francisco to Berlin about a year and a half ago.

2. Hmmm . . . okay, I'll keep checking. I was thinking about flying to
the Netherlands and taking a train.

4. That's not your only train option
There are plenty, and those eurorail passes aren't expensive. Your choices are plenty, and some have to be a lot cheaper.

9. It Might be the Best You Can Get This Year
Prices are up, and it's less than 60 days until you leave. Exchange rates and oil prices have caused a double-whammy in air travel, especially to Europe.

Just don't wait too long or you'll have to pay even more. Here's a site I've had luck with:

http://www.travelselect.com/us/econ-travel/index.html?AID=12836&PID=266019

There are three fares for $815 at this site leaving the day before (July 31), but it's $100 more to leave on a Sunday. Tue-Thu are also cheaper days to fly.

Searching on "bucket shops" might yield some other places to look.

12. Sounds about right -
I paid about €700 for my New Haven trip earlier this year. It was hard to find a flight at all, the bargain flights from earlier this year /last year are gone.

Good travel location though  :hi:
