Man, Robert Reich is TINY!
:D

He just made John Stewert look tall!

I love Bobbo, though. Can't wait to read his book.

2. I saw him in a bookstore in Georgetown, DC back during th Clinton years
Edited on Thu Jun-17-04 09:23 AM by rumguy
I was blown away how small he was. He had a kid with him that I think was his son. That kid was almost as tall as he was...

3. He was great, Jon's news segment was excellent, too
I also liked "cashing in on Reagan".

4. I like Lewis Black's comparison of Reagan to "American Idol"
Floated by on charm, was more style than substance, and stupid people kept voting for him.

6. I knew he was short but I didn't realize he was that short
He looked to have many dwarfism or uh midget-type (I don't know the correct term) features. Seeing him walk out and then hearing his voice he sounded different than I am used to hearing. A brilliant man none the less.

8. He had a bone disease as a child (see excerpt below)
From a Molly Ivins column published in Mother Jones:

On another occasion, Limbaugh put up a picture of Labor Secretary Robert Reich that showed him from the forehead up, as though that were all the camera could get. Reich is indeed a very short man as a result of a bone disease he had as a child. Somehow the effect of bone disease in children has never struck me as an appropriate topic for humor.

12. Just to be clear
I was not implying that you (or Fenris) were making fun of his height (unlike Oxyrush). It was just the first reference to Reich's condition that I found when I did a google search (plus I always like to give Molly a plug when I can).

7. No kidding!
Jon is only 5'7". And he looked like a giant by comparison.
Last night ROCKED!
I love Jon!
The "This Week in God" segment was brilliant!

10. Interesting things about Robert Reich ....
There was a special little fold-out seat in the Presidential limo, near the President, that only Sec. Reich could fit in. He would use it to get face time with Clinton to discuss labor issues whenever he could.

Also, once there was a small scale model of the White House on display somewhere. Clinton's off-the-cuff remark (not inteneded to be mean-spirited at all) was something to the effect of, "Look, Sec. Reich could live in there!" Reich forgave the comment, but I think he continues to be unhappy with "welfare reform".

11. He has the same bone disease that Toulouse Lautrec had
The legs don't grow in proportion to the rest of the body.

He's still a brilliant man and I'm glad he's on our side. Limbaugh shows his lack of class every single time he opens his fat gob.
