1. Sorry brother...
Edited on Wed Jun-16-04 10:01 PM by noahmijo
But so long as the Bronx Bombas are in the league, the Beantown Boys are always going to be second best.

B-)

LoL when kerry comes to town I want him to sign my two books that I have (one of them is the one he wrote about why he should be president the other is that one by Brinkley) and more imporantly I want to see if he'd be willing to let my girl take a pic of us with me wearing my Yankee colors.

Personally Kerry seems like a such a cool guy who worries about what's really important (we're all in this together regardless of Sox or Yankee loyalty) that he'd laugh heartily and agree to the photo.

2. I pray every day for a salary cap...

What would Georgie do if he can't buy the world series?

4. How much better would other teams be if...
Their managers actually used their funds on their players instead of themselves?

By the way if you were a Royals fan maybe you'd have a case, but I'd hardly call the Red Sox a "poor" team. You're going to tell me their payroll is far less than the Yanks?

8. the yankees payroll is
50% higher than the red sox. Red sox $125 million , Yankees $183 million. Red sox are #2 in salary. As a red sox fan, Id be willing to to see them up a chunk of salary if it means more parity among teams, and people win based on heart, effort and teamwork, not on hoarding all the talent with money.

Parity makes for better games overall. It prevents teams from falling out of it halfway through the season. Imagine if you are so bad that no one wants to come see 81 of your games.

Being a Patriots fan as well, I am glad to say they won the superbowl last year not because they outspent everyone, but becuase they were a better team. This is because the NFL has a salary cap. The salary cap is what keeps all the games exciting and the majority of teams in till the end.

14. Salary cap ...
..is an owners dream. Then the stupid fans just root for the uniforms.

It's the MAJOR leagues. The draft was supposed to end the Yankees reign. I ignore the salaries. It's just fodder for sports talk stations.

15. just for the record
hoarding all the talent with money

the team that "won it all" last year, the Florida Marlins, did it with a payroll of $54 million (less than 1/3 the 2003 Yankees' payroll) ... but payroll has always been a convenient excuse for Red Sox fans ...

17. Detroit winning the Finals was another example
How much money do three future Hall of Famers (I'm not including Bryant here) eat up? And then plus Kobe? And the bench.

Compared to the team of "no-names" (who actually, together, are an incredible unit), the Lakers' team salary must be gargantuan.

7. Oh jeez how stupid of me...
I mean everything about curse10's name says that she's a female...:eyes:

I'm sorry as a lifelong Yankee fan I never realized the Packers had achieved much higher legendary status than the Yankees could ever hope for...

I always love it when people throw insults at Yankee fans like we should be ashamed of a team we've followed and cheered for just as hard as any Red Sox fan, and those people throwing the insults usually know nothing about real Yankee or Sox fans they just gotta jump the bandwagon with the bashers to make themselves feel tough.

12. I didn't check your profile
I typically don't check profiles because I don't consider establishing personal contacts with anyone on here.

Say how are the "Miami Marlins" doing and I assume you followed their success for the last 15 years? One World Series and all of a sudden that creates bragging rights?

16. you cant get nothing right, can you "brother" ?
your team played like a bunch of times square trannies last year, which gave our team OUR SECOND WS CHAMPIONSHIP

imagine that, losing the WS to an expansion team!, oh yeah, thats right, Arizona Diamondbacks did it to you too!!

Face it, your team is nothing but history

I'm pulling for the Bosox this year, their batboy has more heart than your whole squad, maybe we'll play a real team this time around....

3. 1918 - 1918 -1918
That's what aome of our nutty Rockies fans are chanting right now. BTW they interviewed a Yankee fan in the stands on TV - he was so bombed that his companion had to translate.

19. Reminds me of how the Cubs fans were last year
It seemed like (from watching on TV anyway) that there were more Cub fans at Turner Field than Atlanta fans in the NLDS. Kinda funny how that worked :)

From one cursed fan to another... :hi:
