3. Haven't been CD shopping in a while, but
should I fork out the cash for all the individual LZ cd's?

I've had the box set for 10 years or so....

4. Do you know anything about those springs in the old ink pens?
There used to be a way to make a stink bomb by putting a match stick in one and clicking it and, well, making the room stink when it burns on the inside.

Can you tell me how that was done?

The old stink bomb.

Thanks.

8. I think we have the same CDs.
Everything you listen to, I seem to have.

Anyway, Houses of the Holy was my first Zep love, before I really got into them.

It has the pop-iest sound of all their albums, but that's not a bad thing. People that don't normally like Zep might like this album.

9. Interesting.
Yeah it is poppy. No Quarter is more ominous than most of their songs though.

12. BBC sessions
The rendition of THank You at the end of that was always my favourite. Better than the version on Led Zeppelin II (was it 2?)

13. When I lived in London
I went to Zep's premire and party for their (very pretentious) movie, "The Song Remains the Same". We met the band, who're exactly like you think they are. Robert Plant, the ultimate eye candy, deliberately stood under a light that refracted off his hair and made him look like a Greek God. But vanity aside, he was very charming and sweet to my boyfriend who was just dying in his shoes. Page avoided the liggers, and sat up in the balcony looking down at us like a lofty Merlin. Jones was just wonderful, down to earth and a real musician. Bonzo knocked back pints with my friends (one who later went to work for him) brought his great wife (she, my girlfriend, and I ended up singing pub songs at the top of our lungs). At 21, it was the zenith of my life.

That was in 76, and I never would have believed all these years later that 17 year olds would still revere Led Zep. Personally, I love Houses of the Holy, especially that 12-sting action on Over the Hills and Far Away. But my favourite song by them is Kashmir (lots of people agree with me)

And if I NEVER hear Stairway to Heaven again, I'll die a happy woman!
