Why would a cat puke and/or piss on the floor?
Edited on Fri Jun-11-04 11:53 PM by Bleachers7
My girlfriends cat got to play outside today. She was going trees and going nuts. Anyway, she has been home for a while. The cat puked on one of the carpets today. She has puked in the same spot before. Does that mean anything?

I also found piss on another carpet under a desk. I have never seen her piss/poop outside the litter box since my g/f got her. She was sitting in a bag and I put it on a chair. She fell out off of the chair. Would she do it because she's pissed? Thanks

1. Our cats puke every once in a while
I don't think that kind of thing is weird, seems like our cats wretch up stuff as a matter of course. That's why they like eating grass, to scour their stomachs.

A friend's cat would pee simply because it smelled the cat that lived there before. Is that a possibility in your house?

2. Did she do all of this immediately after coming in?
If so, my guess would be that she got hold of a lizard or frog and is inebriated from it.

Other things I'd check for: ticks. Tick paralysis can make them incontinent and affects their neuro-system, so she would lose her balance.

Do her gums look good and pink or are they really pale, more whitish? Are her eyes glazed? What did the puke look like--undigested food or a yellowish bile? Are her ears cold or hot or just normal temp?

4. sometimes they eat grass and other plants to get the fiber they need
and then they throw it up. Mostly cats need protein but it comes at a price.....no roughage.
