Question about a well known nutritional/bodybuilding supplement?
I've heard a lot about Ergopharm's product '1-AD', which is a "prohormone"... Is this basically a steroid? If it is, I'm not interested in taking it... (I think it used to be called Androsteniodol...)

Peace,

1. "androstenedione"

Do NOT take it. Even Mark McGwire stopped taking the stuff.

2. No... this one is called androsteneDIOL... but...
... it probably is, in all practicality, the same type of supplement...

3. Is it worth risking your health?
Isn't "getting healthy" the whole point of working out?

4. What I don't understand is...
... why doesn't the FDA or some other administrative board oversee the production and sale of these products???

5. Not part of the $$$ pharmaceutical industry
The supplement & herbal remedy industries generally aren't touched by them - except when it's good PR, like in the case of the ephedrine ban (which is quite safe when taken correctly and/or heeding the label warnings).
