The thread for people with nice Grandmas who can't cook to save their life
I always thought it was part of the great American mythology that for each of us there is a warm, cozy home, filled with the smells of freshly-baked comfort foods and the greatest Grandma in the whole wide world.

OK, my Grandmother has been gone for many years, God bless her. And she was a very, very nice person. She looked exactly like my dad, but older, and a woman. She had a gold tooth right in front and one whisker that was sharp as a razor blade. As a kid I'd have to get a goodbye kiss when it was time to go home, and I don't care WHICH way I turned my head, that whisker felt like being jabbed by an X-acto knife.

A sweet, loving woman who COULD NOT cook. An Italian grandmother who did not receive the gift of Italian Grandma Cooking when she was born.

I can't be the ONLY one, dammit.

1. What about a poll for those with rabid freeper grandmothers who still
can't cook?

Seriously, I'd disown the woman if I could.

3. My grandma's didn't cook that well either, don't feel bad.
My paternal grandmother cooked bacon that almost tasted raw and I had to chew it forEVER to get it down. I didn't visit her very much but when I did, I couldn't stand the food.

My other grandma wasn't too bad but she made me eat things like beets and then fruit with every meal. Breakfast was always pretty good though.
