Official "appropriate level of maturity and sensitivity" Thread
OK, everyone is familiar with this DU posting rule (my personal favorite among the over 18,000 "official" rules you will find posted in the "FAQ" section...I've heard that the rules section is so big it requires its own server):

"If you wish to discuss topics of a sexual nature, please exercise an appropriate level of maturity and sensitivity."

That means if you use MUST the word "penis" in your post, never, never, NEVER...never...type "LMAO" after it. Such behavior is neither mature nor sensitive.

:toast:

I'll start.

In this excerpt from the collected works of that great humanitarian Dr. Phip McGraw, PhD ("A Family Divided: Confronting Alex About Dating Again"), Dr. Phil "gets real with her about promiscuity" (http://www.drphil.com/slideshow/slide.jhtml?contentId=2119_family.xml) Judging from some of the posts I've read on DU, it would be a good idea for some of you to pay very close attention to this one...maybe "get real" with your OWN promiscuity...

(Just kidding...lighten up, dammit)

"Dr. Phil explains, "She doesn't consciously know that she is kind of hyper hungry for male attention and acceptance ... She is making some bad decisions here, and that girl is at risk of getting pregnant again."

A concerned Erin replies, "What do we do? Do you put her on birth control? If I put her on birth control, are we condoning?"

"We've got to go back to some teen dating rules," Dr. Phil makes clear to Marty and Erin, telling them that they need to decide together what the rules are, support each other, and stand by the rules."

THAT'S RIGHT...rules are good for undisciplined teenagers, they are good for DU, and they are good for YOU.
