1. Shut off your computer and unplug it for 30 seconds...

Turn your computer back on, and start it in SAFE mode. Now run the trojan scanning program....that should fix it.

3. Don't follow this advice if you have SubSeven
Find out what you have first before you start removing it.

2. Might help if we knew the name of the trojan
Trojans can hook the system in different ways and have unique methods of safe removal that doesn't involve reformatting the hard drive. The virus scanner you used to find the trojans should be able to name them.

10. A removal tool available here
Microsoft's DoomJuice and MyDoom worm removal
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=836528

(I found that you might need to refresh the page in order for it to appear for some reason. Unless it's just my computer, hit refresh if you get a blank page)

There are several types of TrojanDroppers that I found, but it seems you can just delete those and all the files it created since it appears to be nothing more than a distributor. Here's some info, but try to find out exactly what variant the TrojanDropper is.

5. Let me guess: Was it Psymes?
I got hit with that bad two days ago. MacAfee acted like everything was just hunky-dory. It finally took me all night to repair the damage.

It would help if you let us know what you've been infected with.

6. Cassandra warned you not to pull that Greek gift in
Odysseus has already sacked your computer and is on his way home to Ithaca (but it will take him a while). Don't take on-line advise. Get a pro to fix it for you. Check your local newspaper's classifieds for a computer guru. Then check him/her out to make sure. Ask for references.
