Poll question: Best Nicholson Film?
For mpsteve, since he apparently can't do a poll.

30. I agree. When you say "Jack Nicholson film" I like to think of the ones
where he is not just the only good thing in it. 'A Few Good Men' has everything: Excellent writing (thank you, Aaron Sorkin!) a great cast, brilliant direction, masterful photography, and then a standout performance by Nicholson to bring it all together. So, AFGM has my vote.

17. The Pledge? Enlighten me, I thought I was a huge Nicholson fan, but
am not familiar with this particular flick. What's it about, who else is in it, when was it released? Thanks.

31. Eeewwwww - no way, not with Helen Hunt
Who has to be the worse actress around. She only won that Oscar because Jack Nicholson was so good in the movie my mother could have played that role and won an Oscar!

Although I thought he was great in As Good As It Gets and Carnal Knowledge too.

About Schmidt is also one of his best performances.

That expression on his face - priceless. He exuded the utter depravity and emptiness of his life.

29. I liked the Ayn Rand quote
The fact he had a sexual fetish for Rand I thought really showed "the utter depravity and emptiness of his life" :)

12. I voted Chinatown
Great film noire, but my second favorite is not on your list, namely Missouri Breaks. Very realistic western piece with Brando! I highly recommend it to those who haven't seen this work.

26. Missouri Breaks is a brilliant film &
a rare and unknown nugget. My favorite Harry Dean Stanton role.

Screenplay is incredible! By Thomas McGuane

Directed by Arthur Penn.
